"The noisy rabble of a dinner party in progress bounces down the corridors. Conversations overlap with boisterous laughter. Silverware clinks against plates and bowls to the rhythm of at least twenty guests. Now with the noise comes the aroma. The smell of warm yeast. Fat rendered and animal skin spiced and cooked crisp. A staggering waft of red wine. Yet as the aromas only intensify you notice the sounds still seem as distant as when you first turned down the long corridor. Steps away from the threshold a hush falls over the dinner party. A throat coated in wine and roasted meats is cleared. Chairs shift expectantly."
